StormyStormy

Stormy turned 4 years old on May 29, 2014.

She is one of our founding horses and a permanent member of TheraPony family

Dairy was a back yard pony, bought for children to ride by a family who didn’t quite do their research on pony mares, and Daily definitely fits the stereotype. Although she is the sweetest girl, she can be bossy and is not a fan or the saddle.

SuziSuzi

Our second founding horse, or should we say pony, Suzi is 23 years old and the best babysitter pony in the whole world.

CassieCassie

17 year old draftX. Cassie retired from a riding program where she was a goto horse for beginners and bigger riders. She had an injury that just would not heal and she couldn’t stay sound. Cassie has since been diagnosed with Cushing’s and with daily medication and diet change, her health is improving. It remains to be seen if Cassie will be ridable again as her pasterns have dropped drastically and may not be able to support a rider.

Jessica Day a.k.a JessDSC_0605

Jess was a stray in Perris, CA when she was picked up by animal control in July 2014. She was at the shelter for three months before she came to us in October 2014. Jess didn’t gain any weight at the shelter despite her healthy appetite because her belly was full of sand. Jess started out by seeing the vet and farrier and following a strict diet that helped her clear the sand and gain weight. She is now ready to head off to training to see what she knows and to start looking for a forever home.

DSC_0218Shiloh

Shiloh is in her mid 20’s. She was adopted from another “rescue” as a trail horse in THIS condition 6 months ago to a new horse person. Shiloh came to us on January 1, 2015. It’s going to take some time to figure out everything that’s wrong with Shiloh. She is being monitored and treated by our vet and will be with us until all her issues are addressed.

UPDATE: Shiloh was diagnosed with EPM and is being treated for it.

IMG_5737Annie Mae

16 year old QH/?? mare. Annie was attacked by a dog and a small wound on her back leg got infected with a strain of bacteria resistant to most antibiotics. Annie (Bananie) Mae came to us March 23, 2015 and started treatment immediately. Props to her former home for recognizing their limitations and letting Annie, a gem of a horse, go where she can receive proper treatment.

DSC_0064 2Maven

Born 4/1/15, Maven was rejected by her mother at just a few days old. We were told that Maven’s wild mustang mother was rounded up in February 2015 at Little Fish Lake. What happened in Maven’s first two months of life is a bit of a mystery. She can to us through someone who knew someone who knew a filly in need of a soft place to land, and the rest is history. Maven is thriving at TheraPony and is getting ready to celebrate her 1st birthday with a HUGE party on April 24, 2016

Born 12/16/14 a little ahead of schedule, Mezzy faced some challenges that would put her racing career in jeopardy. Mezzy was allowed to grown up with her mom and joined TheraPony family in July 2015, a few months after we said yes to her. Now a yearling, Mezzy is working to overcome several health issues. She may or may not be ridable, but she will always be safe and loved
